Just One of the Boys

Sometimes I just like hanging out with the boys...

Finding a nice comfy lap to curl up in...

Leaning my cute lil' head on my friend's shoulder...

Taking a nap while velcroed to someone's side...

Getting video game lessons even though I don't have opposable thumbs to work the controller...

Or even just hanging out on the couch watching TV...

Those are a few of my favorite things...

Oooh...Guess What I Got for Christmas...?!

This was way better than any gift that I had on my list...even better than a marrow bone or a Kong toy or a new stuffy with a squeaker inside...imagine that!? Santa brought me very own copy of this particular issue of Sports Illustrated magazine this year. I do believe I might just have to ask mom to frame it...

Just look who made the cover! It's Sweet Jasmine from Recycled Love, one of the rescues that helped to save the Vick Dogs. You can find a link to the SI article here . My friends at Our Pack rescued another former Vick dog, Leo, and helped him to discover his true calling in life. When he's not happily hanging with his pack, he is busy working as a certified therapy dog and is an absolute rock star! Yay!

It really is a very Merry Christmas for us pit bulls indeed!

Love, Maxine

P.S. And, OH!....I just LOVE this new Christmas song!!!

P.S. Here's what mom would like the puppies to do for Christmas instead of "un-decking the halls" LOL! movie

Rub-a-dub-dub...two pups in a tub

So what could possibly be more fun than bathing a puppy?

How about bathing TWO puppies! (...well maybe not both puppies at the same time...boy oh boy!...can you just imagine that?!)

Pippin and I did our best to look as pathetic and soulful as possible, just so that we would be able to get this over with even sooner, but that plan didn't work...

And if looking pathetic doesn't work, how about just trying to escape?

Sigh...No such luck trying to escape either...But at least we got some satisfaction out of getting foster mom all soaking wet...heh!

Winter Creatures

Okay, so it's not officially winter yet, but foster mom seems to be getting us all ready for it because she says it's just around the corner. She made us put on all of these comfy cozy sweaters and vests and stuff. Don't we look silly!? Not even our very favorite treat in the whole wide world (cheese) would keep us all sitting still for this picture...(just check out one of the outtakes...Pippin's outta here...heh, heh, heh!)

Oh, but that's not all...

...here I am in my hoodie.

& my CalTrans vest...

So, as you can see, I will be more than ready for my first winter ever! And so will Pippin...it'll be her first winter too! Maybe we can just snuggle up together and keep each other warm without wearing these silly outfits! D'oh!

My Busy Bee Week

There were so many places to go and people to see and dogs to meet this week...it's almost a blur.

Let's see...Last Monday I went to the vet's office for a check-up and a shot. Ummmm...OUCH! I'm not a very big fan of shots, but foster mom held me and hugged me and told me that I was very brave about the whole thing, and besides, it was over in no time anyway.

I met a new friend while I was at my check-up. I think I heard the people there calling him "Lefty". I guess he works there too and his job must be to check in with all of us patients to see if we need anything, or perhaps just see if we want to play while we're waiting. I liked Lefty!

I also noticed that foster mom makes me practice my lessons every single day, no matter where we are. I guess there's no such thing as 'Sunday is a day of rest' around these parts. Here I am practicing my "down" while waiting for the doc to show up. I did a good job, huh?

I also made another friend this week. A fellow puppy named Pippin. I am sooooo very lucky and totally excited to have so many nice friends. Life is good!

P.S. You know how it says on my shelter bio that I weigh 15-lbs and that I'm 11 weeks old? Well, that was a few weeks ago (almost a month ago maybe). Here's the latest update on my stats...I'm a slightly bigger boy now! A 26-lb 'hunka love muffin / snuggle bully / lap dog'.

Helping Around the House

I keep hearing this phrase around here that "Nothing in Life is Free" (NILF). Hmmm ... For I while I didn't really understand what that meant, but I think the lightbulb above my cute lil' head just turned on. My foster family wants me to learn to follow the house rules, and learn good manners, and earn things, so that I will be the best puppy / dog that I can be.

Allrighty then! I think I will make them proud and start my day off by helping to do some chores around the house...

I will help to Take Out the Recycling...

I will also help by Shredding the Junk Mail...

Who needs a paper shredder when sharp little puppy teeth work just as well?! :)

Happy Halloween !

Mom says, "Thank doG for the miracle of cheese, for without it, it would be nearly impossible to have two dogs plus one puppy all posing pretty and looking so cute & charming for the camera without chewing the costumes off."

P.S. Has anyone else noticed how Theo (aka Gulliver) has completely velcroed himself to my side? I guess I attract dogs! :)

Maxine says that I better enjoy this game while I can, cause pretty soon I'm going to get stuck under the couch.
Here's a lil' movie

Maxine's New Kinder-Puppy

Of all the new potential foster pibbles that I met today...this is the one that I picked out by my own self...my very own'kinder-puppy'...(I think he kinda reminds me of me when I was his age...) Let the games begin!

Wags and kisses,
